I’m Ken — a Vancouver based accountant who’s worked my way up across a variety of industries in the Canada and the U.S.

Over my career, accounting has given me far more than a paycheck. It’s given me structure, purpose, and the chance to grow in ways I never expected. It’s given me a chance to start a family in the city I’ve grown up in and I’m genuinely grateful for the direction it’s brought into my life.

But my experience hasn’t been the norm for everyone. I’ve seen so many of my peers — people who were talented, motivated, and full of potential — get swallowed up by the industry. They entered the field excited, only to become disillusioned. Some left the industry entirely while others continue to struggle in their day to day.

I started this because I don’t believe it has to be that way. My goal is to help you avoid the mistakes I or others around me have made, avoid traps, and build careers that feel meaningful — whether that means maximizing your earnings, growing your skills, or simply finding more enjoyment in your day-to-day work
